Indonesia - Paradise Dancer |
|
There is a remote place in Indonesia called North Sulawesi, and
in one of its more populated areas, there is a muck-bottomed
moonscape littered with old tires and soda bottles called the
Lembeh Straight. It would not, at first glance, seem like the
most likely spot in the world for a dive. But this is one of the
best places in the world to see and photograph elusive creatures
such as the ghost pipefish, plus more than a few as of yet
unnamed species. Ever since David Doubliet broke that news in
the November 2005 issue of National Geographic, North Sulawesi
has drawn in underwater photographers the way a black hole sucks
in stars.
